Meet Eric

Eric Lucan is a Novato native committed to our city’s future. He has a strong business background to help guide Novato through difficult economic times and the innovative ability to address complex issues from a fresh perspective.

Currently, Eric is the vice-chair of the Recreation, Cultural, and Community Services Commission for the City of Novato where he has provided important recommendations to the city council regarding community programs and services as well as capital improvement projects like the Hamilton Pool. As a part of the Leadership Novato Class of 2007, Eric spearheaded a grassroots campaign which raised over $15,000 to assist the city in rebuilding the gazebo at Pioneer Park. Eric is a strong believer in community service and gives much of his time to coaching sports, serving as a youth director to middle school and high school students, and volunteering with the Novato Police Department.

A graduate of Novato High School, Eric earned an MBA (summa cum laude) from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He worked as a Marketing Manager for a quick service restaurant franchise with over $1 billion in sales. With outside of the box thinking, Eric drove sales and increased profits, but he attributes his biggest corporate accomplishment to the $1/2 million food donation to Katrina refugees which he helped initiate and manage. Today he consults for a number of small businesses across a variety of functions.

Eric and KileyIn 2006, Eric became a proud home owner in the President’s area of Novato. He has the greatest appreciation for his parents, John and Loretta Lucan, and his 93 year old grandfather Frank who all live in Novato. On November 28th, 2008, Eric proposed to Kiley Pearson, the love of his life, at the tree lighting ceremony in Union Square. She said yes!
