Eric Lucan announced Friday that he is running for a seat on the Novato City Council. Eric filed his candidate intention statement with the city of Novato to declare his candidacy.

Through his newly launched Web site and blog at www.ericlucan.com, Lucan said, “As a native and lifelong resident of Novato I am very concerned about the current budget crisis our city is facing. Utilizing my successful business background, I hope to help Novato navigate through difficult times as well as provide a more diverse representation to all residents of any age.”

Lucan currently serves as the vice-chair of the Recreation, Cultural, and Community Services Commission for the City of Novato. He holds a master’s in business administration (summa cum laude) from Georgia State University in Atlanta. Lucan is a marketing consultant to a variety of businesses and he also gives much of his time to the community as a youth director, volleyball coach, and volunteer with the Novato Police Department.
