Why am I Running for the Novato City Council?

To start, I want to tell you a little more about my background and why I’ve decided to run for the Novato City Council.
I was born and raised in Novato. I am proud to say that I am a product of our public school system having attended Novato High School. Following graduation, I went on to earn my college degree and MBA at Georgia State University before moving back home to continue my career in marketing.
I have years of experience as a small business consultant and Marketing Manager for a large restaurant franchise. Today, I work for Kimpton Hotels in San Francisco directing customer relationship management and loyalty marketing programs.
My wife Kiley also grew up in Novato and when we decided to settle down and buy our first home, the choice was simple. We both wanted to stay in Novato because we love living here so much.
Over the years, I have been actively involved in our community. Currently, I serve on the Novato Parks and Recreation Commission. I have also volunteered with the Novato Police Department and acted as a youth director and athletic coach to middle school and high school students.
I am running for City Council because I think it’s time for a new perspective and renewed energy at City Hall. I have a passion for this community and I want to be involved in shaping its future.
My priorities on the Council will be:
- Developing a financially sustainable budget that ensures Novato’s long term viability
- Improving our public safety levels to provide the protection our residents deserve
- Repairing our infrastructure, public facilities and parks through pragmatic, fiscal decision-making.
Right now, we need leaders who will take on the tough issues facing our City. I have a strong business background that will allow me to make sound fiscal decisions. I will also work tirelessly to revive Novato’s image and bring economic vitality to our downtown.
Most importantly, I will always listen to the ideas and concerns of our fellow residents. Our City has a tremendous sense of community which can be found nowhere else in Marin. I want to preserve and build upon these values, which I believe make Novato unique.
I’m ready to bring innovative ideas and renewed energy to our local government. I believe it’s time for a new voice on the City Council and I’m prepared to provide real leadership.
It would be my honor to represent you. I humbly ask for your vote.
